3 Ferries & an Island Adventure Bike Tour

What’s more fun that riding bikes and catching ferries? Our Three Ferries & an Island bike tour is a really fun day out taking in some epic road climbs on Cowal, then sailing to Bute for rolling hills and pastures. Finally, we sail across the Firth of Clyde from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay where we join the traffic-free National Cycle Route 753 to ride to Gourock for our final ferry back to Dunoon.

This road cycling tour is the perfect mix of challenge plus pleasant riding through mountains, along quiet coastal roads, and through pastoral scenes. Our meal stop is along the white sand beach of Ettrick Bay. 

This bike tour is part of our Adventure Tour series for avid cyclists bringing their own bicycle. A road or gravel bike is appropriate for this ride. We will accept e-bikes with prior arrangement. 

Who is this tour for? This tour is for people who cycle regularly and feel comfortable riding their bicycle for at least 3 hours. You can come as an individual or a group – we’re happy to accommodate cycle clubs. This ride is only 50 miles so it doesn’t require extreme fitness; it can be a pleasant day out, or maybe a push ride for you with the support of ride leaders and a mechanic.
