If you’re looking for some legit gravel grinding – steep climbs, fast descents, chunky gravel, stunning views – only 2 hours from Glasgow, come ride the route used for the 2024 Scottish National Gravel Championships. This one will get your heart racing and your legs burning, but it’s easily doable in a few hours for those in Dunoon only for a day or two. 

Dunoon is an up-and-coming destination for gravel riders from across the globe. With easy transport by train from Glasgow to Gourock, and then a short 25 minute ferry ride from Gourock to Dunoon – and bikes go free on the train and ferry – there’s no reason not to pop doon the watter and take on this challenge for yourself.

Who is this tour for? This tour is for people who cycle regularly and feel comfortable riding a gravel or mountain bike for at least 2 hours. If you’re looking for a challenge in a supportive group, this tour is for you. You must feel comfortable riding offroad. While there are no jumps, the forestry tracks include chunky gravel in sections with steep climbs and fast descents.

For those looking for an offroad challenge, our Glen Fyne Tour packs a punch but rewards you with stunning views over lochs, mountains and islands. Appropriate for gravel or mountain bikes, although the gravel quality in some places is chunky, a mountain bike may be preferred.
